Marlborough

Bar far the largest, and most famous wine region in New Zealand, the Marlborough region produces nearly 2/3 of the countries wine. Benefiting from a moderate climate with high amounts of sunshine and extremely fertile soil, this region located in the northern part of New Zealand’s South Island, is ideal for producing wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes, as well as Chardonnay and some new, exciting Riesling. Most famous for it’s exotic, tropical tinged Sauvignon Blanc, and light red fruit laced Pinot Noir -Marlborough wines are now some of the most sought after ‘New World’ wines available.
