LIONS CLUB FUNDRAISER, Kilkenny wine lovers support local School.

The Wine Centre, 15 John Street, Kilkenny, attracted wine lovers from the across the local area on Thursday 7th November for the 21st  Annual Wine Fair in association with the Kilkenny Lions Club, where over 70 wines, beers and spirits were on offer!

This year’s event in conjunction with the Lions Club has helped to raise over €3,000 and counting for The School of The Holy Spirit, which provides an educational service to children in the Kilkenny and surrounding areas who are diagnosed with ASD, Aspergers Syndrome, emotional and behavioural difficulties and other special needs.

Once again the tastings proved extremely popular, and Mayor Martin Brett, also in attendance, welcomed everyone to the event on behalf of the Lions Club. Rodger Curran president of the Kilkenny Lions Club said they were delighted to team up again with the Wine Centre and congratulated the School of the Holy Spirit for providing vital educational services to children in the Kilkenny and surrounding areas.

Simon Hawkins, Marketing Executive for O’Keeffes Group said they were delighted to once again be working with the Lions Club to help raise funds for such an important local cause. “We take great pride in the fact that as a local family run business we are able to put on events such as this to help local causes each year – and hope that everyone enjoyed the evening as much as we did!”

Since its inception in 1999, the annual Wine Fair has gone from strength to strength, and plans are already under way for next year’s event!
